The driver sets the top rung of the ladder. Get it wrong and every other club has to compensate for a number that was never realistic to begin with.
Every Swing, Charted Against Your Baseline
Your current driver gets measured first — ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, spin axis, and attack angle — so every demo head and shaft we test afterward has a real number to beat, not a guess.
From there we look for the specific thing holding your number back: too much spin ballooning shots in the wind, too little launch knuckling drives out of the air, or a face angle at impact that's quietly costing you 15 yards of dispersion on an otherwise solid strike.
What Actually Moves the Number
Loft & Face Angle
Adjustable hosels let us step loft in half-degree increments. A steeper attack angle usually calls for more static loft than the stamped number on the head suggests.
Shaft Weight & Flex
Weight shapes swing timing more than the flex label does on its own. We test across weight classes to find the combination with the most repeatable strike, not just the fastest one.
Head Design & MOI
Higher-MOI heads resist twisting on off-center strikes; lower-MOI heads often suit players who want to shape shots on purpose. Neither is universally correct.
Length
A half-inch shorter, better-controlled driver frequently beats a longer one on center-strike percentage — which usually beats a few extra theoretical yards.
Center of Gravity
CG placement shapes launch and spin independent of loft. Low-back CG heads generally raise launch while trimming spin for players chasing more carry.
Grip Size
An oversized or undersized grip changes hand action through impact, which quietly shifts face angle at contact. We check it on every driver fitting.
What a Driver Fitting Usually Fixes
The Slice
A left-to-right spin axis tilt is usually a face-to-path issue, but the right shaft and loft pairing can meaningfully reduce curvature while you work on the swing itself.
Low, Knuckling Shots
Not enough spin and launch for your attack angle causes shots to drop short of their potential. Adjusting loft and CG placement usually resolves it.
Ballooning in the Wind
Excess spin sends shots up and back, exposing the ball to wind and costing distance. A lower-spin head or shaft, sometimes paired with reduced loft, flattens the flight.
An Inflated Top Rung
If your driver carry number is more theoretical than repeatable, the whole ladder below it gets built around a distance you rarely actually hit.
