Putter Fitting

The ladder ends here. Carry distance stops mattering the moment the ball is on the green — what matters is whether the putter actually matches how you stroke it.

What We Capture

Your Stroke, Not a Standard Setup

A dedicated putting capture mat logs stroke path, face angle at impact, and tempo across a series of putts at varying lengths. Most golfers have never seen their own stroke path plotted — it's often the single most surprising number in the entire fitting.

From there we test length, lie angle, and head style against that stroke rather than defaulting to a standard 34- or 35-inch setup that may not match your actual posture at address.

What We Adjust

Length

Length that's too long or short forces a compensating posture at address, which quietly changes stroke path over the course of a round.

Face Balance

Face-balanced heads generally suit a straighter stroke path; toe-hang heads suit a more pronounced arc. Matching the wrong head to your path is a common source of pushed or pulled putts.

Lie Angle

Lie angle at address affects where the putter face aims relative to your eyes over the ball — a small adjustment here can meaningfully improve start-line consistency.

Even If You Already Love Your Putter

Worth Checking Anyway

Plenty of clients come in convinced their putter is fine and leave with a length or lie change that nobody had ever measured. A putter fitting is quick relative to a full-bag session and often the highest-value 45 minutes on the schedule.

Putter fittings run 45–60 minutes on our dedicated capture mat.
